Lauderdale By The Sea

Founded in 1947, Lauderdale By The Sea is known as one of the most charming towns in America.Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal waterway, from just south of Commercial Boulevard, to just north of Commercial Boulevard, this timeless enclave of just over 7,700 people encompasses only about a half of a square mile!

There are building restrictions that prohibit any buildings over 35 feet in Lauderdale By The Sea.  That, and a full time population of under 3,900 year round residents helps maintain the small town ambiance and charm that attracts many visitors and locals alike year after year.At the center of the town is Pelican Square. With it’s many wonderful boutiques, unique gift shops, ice cream parlors, restaurants and boutiques,  Lauderdale By The Sea  is a favorite place for locals and others who own nearby Pompano Beach and Ft Lauderdale Real Estate to come to take an evening stroll along the ocean side sidewalk that stretches from almost the entire north to south end of the town.

Scuba diving here is amazing, and so convenient- there is a fabulous live coral reef just 100 yards off shore which makes this beach a favorite destination for local divers and snorkelers.  Fishermen can test their prowess at world famous Anglin’s Fishing Pier, located right at the end of Commercial Boulevard.   Spend a day casting for  Red Snapper, Snook  and many other delicious local favorites.

Most of the homes in this quiet community were built in the 1950′s -1970′s.
